Traveling with vape products?
Are you preparing to travel? You would think traveling with your vape would be as easy as traveling with cigarettes and a lighter, but the reality is that traveling with vape equipment is a little more complicated because of the regulations that apply to liquids and batteries.
Air travel is pretty straightforward if you are a frequent nicotine vaper. The method of flying with a vaping gear is fairly easy, and as long as you obey some basic rules and know the procedures, you will have no problems. Find below tips to travel with your vape
Find the airport’s smoking areas before you go
When your travel itinerary includes a layover at an airport, you should know in advance that most airports do not allow vaping except where smoking is allowed. Other airports also make locating the smoking areas impossible for people. You might need to search a third-party website to find the smoking areas at a given airport. There are a few websites that smokers use to monitor and report smoking area status at airports around the world; these websites should be helpful to you.
Remember that many airports do not have smoking areas within their perimeters of security. If that is the case, before entering the airport you may need to vape outside. When you have a layover at an airport that only provides outdoor protection areas, then you will have to leave the airport to vape and go through security again once you are done vaping.
Flying with vaping devices and batteries
Due to concerns about fires in the cargo hold, all electronic devices and lithium vape batteries have to be carried onto the plane. They cannot be packed into checked luggage. It is a law worldwide, with no exceptions. When you fail to observe this law and the baggage handlers x-ray your luggage, you will be liable to lose your tools and batteries and have your suitcase scattered. Or they can leave your luggage at the airport’s hall of departure. So it’s important to take your vape devices onboard (or in a pocket) in your cabin pack.
Whilst on the flight
Do not turn the vape on when you are flying. You are not permitted to use it, or charge it onboard the aircraft. It is important to disconnect the battery to reduce the risk of turning it on accidentally.
Please review the website of the airline to understand its rules on flying with a vaping tool. Some airlines are stricter than the Transportation Security Agency.
Never fly with cannabis. If you have a weed vape, make sure to leave the weed at home, and clean your vape thoroughly before you fly. It may be legal in the state you live in, however, it is illegal under U.S. federal law, so it is not permissible in checked or carry-on luggage.
CBD is a little different, but the rules vary greatly depending on which country you are living or even which state you are in the United States.
